Within Optimizations and Data Strategy, we are looking for a motivated Data Scientist and analytical thought leader to support predictive modeling efforts for Marketing, Direct & Digital Insights. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a diverse and newly expanded analytics department and a great fit for a predictive modeler with a desire to impact business results. The successful candidate will possess a broad knowledge of predictive analytics techniques, and experience applying those techniques to answer key business questions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of organizational and operational awareness; independently seek out opportunities to enhance understanding of marketing analytics

  • Use statistical techniques to build various predictive/explanatory models for such initiatives as: acquisition and retention campaigns, lead routing, customer segmentation

  • Mine customer (e.g., customer satisfaction surveys), prospect, and market data to develop deep, actionable insights

  • Use advanced analytical techniques to measure value and develop insights that help allocate spend across and within marketing vehicles (e.g., TV, Direct Mail, Digital, Radio)

  • Responsible for managing highly complex projects, creating solutions specific to customer needs, and effectively communicating recommendations

  • Conduct in-depth market and data analyses to answer key strategic questions for the organization

  • Keep abreast of cutting edge research and analytical tools in the market to inform learning agenda

  • Regularly engages with the data science community and leads cross-functional working groups

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Operations Research, Business or other quantitative field; Master or PhD is preferred

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience with progressive responsibility. Advanced education may be substituted for years of experience (i.e. Ph.D. with limited professional experience)

  • Demonstrated understanding of advanced techniques in statistics and predictive modeling through prior experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and data manipulation (SQL)

  • Expert skills in statistical software packages (e.g. SAS, R, Python)

  • Must have exceptional planning, analytical, decision making, communication, and organization skills

  • Ability to foster and encourage teamwork and productive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across organizational lines

  • Proven ability to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies and adapt to changes and demands in fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Strong business acumen and communication skills, as well as ability to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical individuals

  • Broad knowledge of predictive analytic techniques and statistical diagnostics of models. Expert knowledge of predictive toolset; reflects as expert resource for tool development.
