Pfizer Senior Associate, R&D Ops Mgmt in Andover, Massachusetts
Senior Associate, R&D Operations Management for the Business Strategy and Operations (BSO) Organization, in the BioTherapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences (BioTx PharmSci) global line, to provide reporting, analysis, and financial modeling to enable operational forecasting, financial strategy, and portfolio management. The colleague in this role serves as a reporting, analysis, modeling, financial, and data systems expert.
Works cross-functionally within BSO, across the scientific lines Business Operations Directors in the Analytical Research and Development, Bioprocess Research & Development, Pharmaceutical Research and Development groups, and additionally interfaces with Portfolio and Project Management, Finance, and Pfizer Global Supply partners, to foster a collaborative culture with all partners, ensuring we meet our budget targets, and portfolio demands.
Provides all reporting and analysis necessary for budgeting and forecasting, and managing the base and portfolio budgets for the BioTx PharmSci organization.
Systems expert for all data, financial, resource, and forecasting reporting systems: Business Intelligence, Resource And Planning Insights for Decisions (RAPID), SPOTFIRE, Excel, SAP, SharePoint, etc.
Builds accurate financial reports and models, provides analysis of the portfolio transferable expense, operational expense, and facility operations.
Provides budget, forecasting, and financial direction to the BioTx PharmSci Project Team Leaders, Project Managers, Scientific Line Business Operation Directors, and Standing Offer team.
Member of the cross-functional BTx PharmSci Operational Excellence Team. Will work as a team member on various operational excellence projects, in additional to leading ad-hoc teams.
Sets objectives to manage multiple strategic and operational projects/ongoing work activities, and has the ability to prioritize.
Ability to anticipate both department, and organizational needs, quickly adapt to changes, and continue to improve upon analysis techniques and financial models.
Supports a culture of transparency and collaboration through communication, building strong interfaces with scientific lines and interdepartmental BTx PS partners.
Global Activity Tracking system owner for BioTx PharmSci, providing system support, training, maintenance, and reporting for all time tracking and forecasting activities. Additionally manages the project codes and activities available for BTx PharmSci time tracking, to enable accurate reporting, and forecasting of BTx PharmSci resources.
BSO SharePoint owner for libraries pertaining to data analysis, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting, Maintains reporting distribution and access to confidential reports.
Functions both independently, and as a member of cross-functional teams.
Minimum: BS or equivalent business training/experience, MBA is a plus, academic background in or familiarity with biopharmaceutical sciences and technology is also a plus.
5+ years of relevant experience in operations, business analysis, finance
Experience with Drug Development in a scientific role is a plus
Proven ability to work collaboratively across the organization
Ability to work independently, problem solve, and negotiate in complex environments.
Experience and knowledge of enterprise systems for business operations management.
Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), Business Intelligence Reporting, SPOTFIRE, SharePoint, SAP
Must have knowledge and understanding of budgeting and accounting practices and systems.
Project management or matrix team experience
