Role Description

An opportunity is available for a highly motivated scientist to join the LC-MS group of Biomedicine Design in Andover, MA. The role will provide expertise and laboratory support for the robust and accurate quantitative analysis of protein biomarkers and protein target biomeasures in support of drug discovery and development programs, thus proven experience operating in a regulated laboratory environment (GLP) is highly desired. The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the development and implementation of innovative bioanalytical methods using affinity enrichment techniques in conjunction with LC-MS-based detection, with strong emphasis on nanoflow assays. Through this work, the successful applicant will support and influence translational pharmacology and biomeasures strategies for project and development teams. Close collaboration with discovery scientists, translational modeling and simulation (TMS) scientists and clinical development teams will enable the successful candidate to optimize laboratory deliverables. The scientist will join a state-of-the-art laboratory with deep expertise in protein quantification by mass spectrometry and is expected to build strong collaborative partnerships, both within and outside the group. This position requires strong bioanalytical expertise, proven regulatory expertise, experience with immunoanalytical procedures and triple quadrupole as well as high resolution quantitative mass spectrometry. #LI-SA1

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Biomarker and Biomeasures Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the discovery, development, validation, and implementation of target, pharmacodynamic and mechanistic biomarker LCMS assays in support of translational and exploratory clinical projects.Participate in all phases of mass spectrometry laboratory operations including technology evaluations, the development of sample preparation and separation methods, data analysis, interpretation, reporting and follow up discussions with the project teams on utilizing the data in appropriate decision making.Develop partnerships in a matrix environment, influencing project strategiesValidate and execute methods to current regulatory (GLP) standardsComply with all applicable regulatory standards, including Good Clinical and Good Laboratory Practices*Ensure all tasks and responsibilities are carried out according to scientific and ethical standards e.g. responsible for eWorkbook record keeping. *Responsible for QC and peer review of raw data, results and final reports

Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. with minimum 5 years of relevant experience (industry preferred) is required.Experience operating in a regulated laboratory environmentEstablished experience in development, characterization, and implementation of quantitative bioanalytical assays based on quantitative mass spectrometry; ideally peptide mass spectrometry quantitationExperience and knowledge in operation of modern triple quadrupole and high resolution mass spectrometers and associated control and data analysis software systems. Knowledge of complex sample preparation methodologies as applied to quantitative protein mass spectrometry workflows techniques; including immuno-analytical techniques and expertise with tissue preparation/tissue bioanalysis.Some understanding of protein biochemistry
