Raytheon’s Electrical Design Directorate (EDD) provides engineering design, integration, test and production to core radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave subassemblies. EDD Test Engineering provides technical expertise to numerous manufacturing and development programs within the Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business. Position Title: Test Engineering Technical Staff, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA). This position can be a Salary Grade G10 (Principal Test Engineer) or G11 (Sr. Principal Test Engineer) based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. Job Description: EDD Test Engineering is involved in the product realization of defense electronic hardware for domestic and international customers. An opportunity exists for an engineer with technical and business acumen to shape production test strategy for the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Center of Excellence (COE). This unique role includes membership on the Test Engineering technical staff and CCA Operations senior leadership team. This high impact position influences 30 test engineers, 60 programs and the efficient execution of 2,200 unique circuit card designs. Work is based in Andover, MA with frequent national travel to other Raytheon businesses and key test solution suppliers. Position includes the following tasks: · Overall responsibility for production test strategy at the IDS CCA COE. · Conducting early design engagement with Raytheon businesses and programs considering the COE for their circuit card manufacturing needs. · Marketing production test capabilities as a business discriminator in the pursuit of new program wins. · Cross-discipline coordination (Design, Test Development, Security..) to achieve the smooth transition to production of new designs. · Developing proposal strategies and competitive cost estimates. · Originating and executing Acquisition Requests covering a variety of Capital pursuits. Representative examples include: RF / Digital / Analog test systems, Robotic Automation, Environmental equipment, Facilities expansion & modernization. This position requires close partnership with the Operations leadership team, other functional managers and program office representatives to ensure business objectives are met. Providing technical direction to teammates as challenges arise. Championing initiatives to improve cost, schedule and quality metrics related to the production test process. Developing proposal estimates for Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) tasks and directing a portfolio of engineering projects. Providing Earned Value and Estimate At Completion (EAC) updates compared to program baselines. Mentoring key individuals to ensure viable plans are in place to develop future leaders. · U.S. citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
